This is a medicine of biological origin that is used as a stimulant for the immune system to increase natural defenses. This can prevent recurrent urinary tract infection, particularly cystitis. It can also be used in combination with other possible treatments prescribed (Such as antibiotics) during the acute phase of urinary tract infections.Uro-Vaxom (Lyophilized Bacterial Lysate of Escherichia coli) is an orally administered immunostimulant used for the prevention of recurrent urinary tract infections (UTIs) and also treatment of acute urinary tract infections (UTIs). It enhances both innate and adaptive immune responses, bolstering the body's defense against urinary pathogens.Upon oral administration, Uro-Vaxom activates innate immune cells (phagocytes and APCs) by stimulating pattern recognition receptors (PRRs) in Peyer’s patches (GALT). This initiates immune cell maturation, which then migrate to the urinary tract, providing localized protection.Innate and Adaptive Immunity Enhancement:Innate Immunity: Uro-Vaxom increases cytokine production, adhesion molecules, and enhances phagocytosis, contributing to a rapid defense.Adaptive Immunity: It stimulates polyclonal lymphocyte activation, leading to IgA and IgG production, which provides humoral protection in the urinary tract, preventing recurrent urinary tract infections(UTIs).By reinforcing immune defenses and preventing inflammation in the bladder, Uro-Vaxom reduces the recurrence of UTIs, offering a long-term, immunotherapeutic alternative to traditional antimicrobial treatments.

Dosage And Administration of Uro-Vaxom 6 mg

Uro-Vaxom is indicated for use in adults and children from 4 years of age with dosing as followsPreventive treatment: 1 capsule per day, preferably taken in the morning on an empty stomach, for 3 consecutive months (90 days).Treatment of acute episodes: 1 capsule per day, preferably taken in the morning on an empty stomach as co-medication to conventional antimicrobial therapy, until symptoms disappear, but for at least 10 consecutive days. To data, the usage and safety of Uro-Vaxom have not been studied in children under 4 years old. Do not change the prescribed does on your own initiative. If you think that the effect of this medicine is too weak or too strong, talk to your doctor.The efficacy and safety of Uro-Vaxom have not been established in children below 4 years.

Drug Interactions of Uro-Vaxom 6 mg

No drug interaction is known up to now. Uro-Vaxom is not contraindicated to immunosuppressive drugs; however, they are likely to reduce or block the efficacy of Uro-Vaxom.

Use During Pregnancy and Lactation

Pregnancy: It is preferable to avoid the use of Uro-Vaxom during pregnancy (Especially during the first Trimester)Breast-feeding: Uro-Vaxom must only be used if you are breast-feeding after you have discussed it with doctor.
