INDICATIONS
For prevention of dehydration & management of diarrhea
In all types of dehydration
DOSAGE & ADMINISTRATION
The amount of water removed from the body, an equivalent quantity of mixture should be given. After each loose motion.
Children below 2 years: 50-100 ml (10-20 teaspoonfuls) prepared saline.
Children between 2-10 years: 100-200 ml (20-40 teaspoonful) prepared saline.
Children above 10 years and adults: 200-400 ml (1-2 glasses) of prepared saline.
PRECAUTIONS & WARNINGS
ORS should not be mixed with hot water and the mixture should not be heated. The mixture must be discarded after 12 hours from preparation.
